Hi, I’m kelly!

I’m the founder of Cherubim Botanicals, a postpartum care provider, health coach and labor and delivery nurse. Herbalism and nutrition have been an intuitive part of my journey as a nurse from the beginning. Seeing that the allopathic model of healthcare was leaving many with unanswered questions, or a life sentence to unwanted medications, I sought answers and alternatives.

Through my own experiences, and through working in a women’s health clinic, I fell in love with women’s wellness. I felt a natural pull to be a sister to those in need, and empathized with their struggle to find true health in a system who left many voices of pain unheard. This lead me to in depth study of herbalism for women’s health, and into my work as a labor and delivery nurse and holistic postpartum provider.

I live on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington, a luscious land tucked in amongst the elements of the mountains and sea. My husband and I tend to our homestead in the midst of an evergreen forest where we raise chickens and grow the herbs found in our products.

The symbolism of the Cherubim

The Cherubim (meaning ‘great understanding’), are a rank of angels, protectors of the Godly kingdom, who glow with the light of wisdom. They act as intercessors between God and man, creating a path for enlightenment of the spiritual eye.

We chose the Cherubim as a perfect representation of the role that herbs play in our lives. Herbs, like the Cherubim, can protect our hearts— the place where God dwells. When the right herb is selected for an individual, it can pave a path back to the heart, no matter how hardened. When contemplating the leaves of a plant or their delicate petals, we are reminded of the wings of the Cherubim and the hope for wellness that lies in creation.
